“They are not police officers nor should they be political pawns.”

After reading the articles on the Navy Seals abusing a terrorist that they had captured I had to write this article. Are these killers wearing a military uniform-NO. Do they subscribe to the Geneva and Hague conventions-NO. Do they treat captured combatants humanely-NO. Do they look to the welfare of captured combatants, looking after their safety and any needed medical treatments-NO.

The fact is that they slaughter people who are taken captive and drag their bodies through the streets and hang their burned bodies from a bridge. They have murdered people while videoing the act and mutilated both military and noncombatants. They target schools, hospitals, place of worship and kill people who are teachers, those offering support and a safe place to gather. They murder the police and leaders of their nation and do not care about how many are killed in the collateral damage they inflect.

They hide behind the local people who are held as hostages and attack from schools and hospitals while carrying out there murderous activities. These are not soldiers but rather terrorist who’s goal is to inflect the maximum amount of damage and carnage on the people of their own nation as well as the American troops who are in country to bring about a stable government and bring aide to the local people.

The military of the United States work under the orders of their officers and in this case were told to bring this killer in alive. It was at risk of their lives that our Seals went out and brought this terrorist in for the G-2 (intelligence) folks to interrogate. During this action and the resulting capture of the killer, does anyone believe that they were met with a handshake and a warm smile? This is a harden killer who was taken in active combat and the courage of those involved (seals) was evident.

The current administration believes that terrorist should receive their Miranda rights as the U.S. Constitution provides for U.S. citizens. They believe that when a terrorist is taken captive that he must be handled in the same manner that our police would take care of a suspect here in America. I would submit to you that this killer when taken captive was just what he is, a wild kill crazy animal that would do all in his power to kill or military. He now has a split lip and is suddenly asking for rights that he or his organization never offered to those they murdered. The welfare of this terrorist was not in question, He is alive being feed and his lip has been taken care of and you may bet that he is living better than he has ever lived before or has the right to expect.

My hope is that I would get to meet the warriors that have risked their lives time and again for this nation and its people and thank them for being there for all of us. I can only hope that the senior members of the nation’s military come to their collective senses and stop this gross miscarriage of justice. I also hope that the Attorney General stays out of the prosecution of this war and allow our military to do what they were trained to do. They are not police officers nor should they be political pawns.
